When is your "Crochet" time?

Forum: Crochet Talk

Do you have a routine, a special time of day (or week, or…) when you do your crocheting?

While babysitting my granddaughter, my routine was: 1) before she arrived 2) while she napped and 3) after supper.

Now that my time is pretty much my own, and it’s summer !!!! - I find that I have many things that I want to do. Sometimes, I work on the afghan in the morning and then after supper and then sometimes, I am too tired after supper and that doesn’t work and too eager to get at that “something else” and the morning doesn’t work.
This afghan is going to take a very long time to get done!
I think I need to create a new, summer routine.

I dont have any routines, i just do a few rows whenever i sit, even if i were to sit for 5 mins i would do a row or 2, i also have another one in my bedroom which i am crocheting a blanket, and i do that whenever i feel like sitting in bed before going to sleep, bit like people who likes to read before going to sleep.

Whenever I sit down. I don’t sit without working on something.

I only get to crochet while my kids are napping or when they’re down for the night (I’m lucky if I get 30 to 60 minutes a day, some times I got 2 weeks without getting any time at all…it sucks) wish I had more time to crochet due to the fact that I’m trying to learn how to make new things (id love to learn how to make the little animals and stuff…). Also, I’m trying to crochet as much as possible so I can sell stuff online because I’m now engaged and am trying to raise money for our wedding (since I’m a stay at home mom this is what I do)

the “amigurumi” are fun to do; for me, the trick is to 1) get the stitches tight so you don’t see the stuffing and 2) get appendages sewn on evenly.

They don’t take too long to make, once you have done a couple.

Thanks! Are there any simple ones you could suggest I try to start out?

it’s not an animal — but the pear was easy and you have to do some decreases etc. A nice place to start.

I can’t remember what pattern I used. but here is one: http://www.planetjune.com/blog/free-crochet-patterns/amigurumi-pears/
