For crafters of multiple persuasions

For those of you who do multiple types of crafts, do you ever get overrun with so many ideas that you don’t know where to start and don’t know what to do next? I find myself thinking, “I want to make such and so, and crochet this and that, and...

PATTERNS

This is really just a personal rant because I need a place to release some frustration and not too many people around me understand this type of frustration. I am working on a really cute little baby sweater. As I get into the pattern, it...

I am not really a blogger myself, but love looking at and reading other people’s blogs. I have been in love with crafting since I was about 4-5? Could have been younger, that’s just where my memory stops. I was so desperite to learn to knit or crochet that spent hours just watching my mom until she finally gave in and let me have some yarn and some knitting needles. I was not allowed to make anything until she was satisfied that I was able to acheive an equal tension to my work, so I knitted that ball of yarn, frogged it, knitted it again, etc, until I finally got it “right”. That took me a few months (my mom was a pure perfectionist). When I did, I made my first pullover sweater! It was pink and gray. Turned out very well and I wore it for a long time. Then I began crocheting. I love making things. I also do needlepoint, crewel, plastic canvas, minimal sewing, and so on. I am also a musician. I am the worship leader at my local church and I do solo work too. My husband and I minister as evangelists and I do the music. We have been doing prison ministry since we came home from our honeymoon. I have made 2 CD’s of my own praise and worship music! I have a notebook full of songs that I have written. I just love being creative.

Flamingo Fountain I am Becka Brooks and I am new also. I have been where you are now and I have been blessed with lots of yarn. If you send me your address I will mail you a package of yarn to help out! My Grams taught me to crochet and if I were to totally run out of yarn I would go crazy. Since it is light it will be a breeze to send at least 10-15 skeins to you. Sincerely I send this message. Becca Brooks

Nice intro, FlamingFountain1…sounds like you are up for just about anything craftsy! I loved the little circle vests/dresses you did for little ones. And several other things. Nice work!

Thank you. If I can’t find a pattern, I just make it up as i go. I believe you can make ANYTHING if you put your mind to it. My children and grandchildren actually think I CAN make anything. LOL.

Your into is very interesting, FlamingFountain1. I love meeting other crafter/crocheters. I have been crocheting since I was 12 years old and I love it. I have many illnesses and so I crochet to take my mind off of the pain and to keep my hands limbered up. I also am a musician and a singer. We also share the gift of songwriting! How amazing is this ! God is so good. I am so pleased that you are so actively serving our Lord. I had sung on the Praise Team at our church until I was unable to be faithful in attendance, due to the health issues. I really miss it. Do you sell your cd’s? Would love to hear you sing, I know you do a beautiful job! Where do you and your husband go to do the evangelistic ministry? Nice to ‘meet’ you.

Becka ...

flamingofountain1 Sorry for the delay in sending the yarn, my mother had a stroke and I had to go to Maryland. I am having to re-locate but have not forgotten and will have it in the mail next Tuesday (March 31st) I went to Maryland in January and from the time I arrived until the day i left it snowed every day. Total of 75 inches, and 14 inches the day before I left. Again sorry for the delay!

Becka, no need to apologize. I understand. I have had quite a few “issues” since January too. My very good friend had a stroke, 2 friends have had surgery, and there have been other things that I don’t feel at liberty to talk about. I totally understand. God is in control. He works all things out for our good if we love Him. You are greatly appreciated, and I know that your mom is better for having you there with her. I hope she has improved. I was a nurse before I retired and took care of MANY stroke patients. I know how devastating that can be. I pray she regains all of her mental and physical faculties. I don’t have much family other than my husband and my children and grands. You are blessed to have your mom and that you can be there for her. God will bless you for it. Again, thank you.

I made the Wildflower purse too. I’ll have to see if I put it on here or not. Yours is beautiful.

Thanks Jo Schrepfer. I had fun with it. Would love to see yours.
