Crochet.Community Theme: SHAWL

This week’s theme is the SHAWL.

What exactly is a SHAWL? Well, Wikipedia helps us with that:
shawl (Persian: شال‎, Shāl,1 from Sanskrit: शाटी śāṭī2) is a simple item of clothing, loosely worn over the shoulders, upper body and arms, and sometimes also over the head. It is usually a rectangular or square piece of cloth, that is often folded to make a triangle but can also be triangular in shape. Other shapes include oblong shawls.3

There you have it — it can be a rectangle, a square, a triangle, or an oblong shape! That isn’t leaving much out but also opens up the options of creativity!

Here at Crochet.Community_ we have already seen a lot of creative SHAWLS - creative not only in the shape but the colours and designs used. Knitters and crocheters are definitely artists!

Check out these three SHAWLS that have been tagged as such:

Let’s build our library of SHAWLs. Add your creations (and blogs) to the site -(AND EMBED THEM IN THE COMMENTS BELOW) – and don’t forget to use the SHAWL TAG, of course!

REMEMBER TO TAG YOUR CREATIONS … so that they are shown in the THEME galleries!

Happy Knitting & Crocheting everyone.
