This week’s theme is the SHAWL.
What exactly is a SHAWL? Well, Wikipedia helps us with that:
shawl (Persian: شال, Shāl,1 from Sanskrit: शाटी śāṭī2) is a simple item of clothing, loosely worn over the shoulders, upper body and arms, and sometimes also over the head. It is usually a rectangular or square piece of cloth, that is often folded to make a triangle but can also be triangular in shape. Other shapes include oblong shawls.3
There you have it — it can be a rectangle, a square, a triangle, or an oblong shape! That isn’t leaving much out but also opens up the options of creativity!
Here at Crochet.Community_ we have already seen a lot of creative SHAWLS - creative not only in the shape but the colours and designs used. Knitters and crocheters are definitely artists!
Let’s build our library of SHAWLs. Add your creations (and blogs) to the site -(AND EMBED THEM IN THE COMMENTS BELOW) – and don’t forget to use the SHAWL TAG, of course!
REMEMBER TO TAG YOUR CREATIONS … so that they are shown in the THEME galleries!
Happy Knitting & Crocheting everyone.
