About that 3-ring Binder....

I had previously shown a binder I put together to save new stitch samples:

and now I’ve added into it to save Yarn Samples, with their labels. It’s proven more useful than I first expected, because I can compare color combinations right in my lap without getting my storage of skeins all mixed up. The sheets are a template offered on Dedri Uys’ LookatWhatIMade website, offered here: "http://www.lookatwhatimade.net/crafts/yarn/organize-your-yarn-stash/
She advises laminating the pages, but I decided to just get a package of white hole reinforcements and surround the punched holes with them, both at the ring binder rings and the yarn holes. It works well, and I actually can waste a lot of time now, just leafing through and admiring my ‘stash!’

OMG what an incredible idea. I must make one!

I made my own version of the file page.
I’ve asked permission from the original creator re: adapting it and posting it here. I haven’t heard back yet.

My version has the yarn attached to the centre and hanging down, in the centre of the page. I didn’t want a “muddle” of yarn tangled at the edge – even thought that would be convenient to see what you had available.

Sounds good. I imagine the page could be adapted many ways.

yes, lots of options! A great idea.

That’s great, Debbie. Organizing something in this way makes keeping the labels and care instructions, weight and colors so-o efficient! I’ve used my ring binder several times a week, especially when I find a great on line sale and want to match hues with the new purchase, or as a reminder of how much I have of what. Your page is a good one.
