Crochet.Community Collaboration #1- Mandala 2015 #8: Row 3: Directions

Thanks to everyone for posting their row ideas and for voting.
Idea #3 is our winner.

ROW 3. *skip 2 stitches, single crochet in next stitch, skip 2 stitches, 7 double crochets in next chain, repeat around from * till there are 5 chains left from the beginning slip stitch from last row, skip 2 stitches, single crochet in next stitch and slip stitch in the next stitch. should look something like this…

Also, re: SPEED IT UP
The votes were almost even (barely more on the “speed it up” side). We’ll keep it as is, because:
1) This is how it was set-up originally
2) The week gives people time to fit this project into their schedule (We have a lot of CADD members, with many creations on the go)
3) The week gives people time to experiment with ideas for the new row and to test out the options presented for the weekend voting.

AND .. we’d love to see your progress! Please share update photos in the comments section or in your blogs.

Andria ...

Thanks so much to everyone that voted for my suggested row!

Debbie Pribele ...

question … did you just count the FRONT dc from previous rows? (when skipping 2).

BarbS ...

That doesn’t work. I just frogged a row like that! ;-)
Count them all or you won’t come out with five shells!

jjtonymom ...

Had a hard time finding 1st stitch after the 7 dcs. Can’t seem to be able to add picture

Andria ...

yes I counted every stitch.

Andria ...

you might have to lift the 7 dcs a bit to see it.

Debbie Pribele ...

Got it.

Kristi ...

Honestly the wording threw me, the " next chain, repeat around from * till there are 5 chains " did not make sense to me until I realized you meant stitches from the previous row, I kept looking for chain stitches and couldn’t figure out if I missed a step or was losing my mind – got it now though thank you

BarbS ...

Very pretty, both.

Andria ...

Sorry about the confusion Kristi. I love the colors that you are using! I agree with you BarbS both are Very Pretty!

Trace ...

Hi, This is a great idea, and am about to start, I know catch up, story of my life and all that, but, are the instructions given in US terms or UK terms? just wondering.

Debbie Pribele ...

US terms.
Looking forward to seeing your progress, Trace!

BarbS ...

We only have a few rows going, so I hope lots more people jump in and join us. The more ideas we can gather, the better this mandala will be!

KelleyB ...

Hi! I think I’ve done something wrong? I have 6 shells..looks like the pics posted only have 5?
Ps.. green was not my first choice.. just grabbed something so I don’t get behind ;)

Andria ...

looks like you missed the single crochet and second set of skipped stitches between each shell/petal
