Basketball player silhouette afghan

Made this for my great nephew’s 9th birthday. I purchased the pattern graph from Cozy Crochet Concepts. The body of the afghan was done in all single crochet and I added about 10 rounds of single crochet for the border.

The star embellishments were from a free pattern I found online at EXPERIENCE IMAGINATION authored by Amy James Gray called “Christmas Star Ornament.” There are patterns for a large and a small star. I used the large pattern for this afghan.

Yarns: red heart super saver in delft red heart siper saver in spring green red heart super saver in gold

Stitches: sc – single crochet dc – double crochet hdc - half double crochet

Thanks, Weezy. The basketball player was my nephew’s choice. He also requested blue, green and yellow as the colors, though I did choose the shades. He loves it, which is what matters. :)
