Textured Blocks Afghan

This was originally a pattern from the Red Heart site called Checkerboard Textures Throw. I am not fond of openly crocheted granny squares, so I substituted a raised leaf petal square for the basic ten, and did the other ten textures on the pattern. I think I substituted two from other sources, but one could easily decide what to include. Each is ten inches, and this photo is done without a finished border. It’s for my foster grandson’s graduation, so it will be completed and mailed off very soon! Oh, and I used brown because Simply Soft Eco yarn was on sale for $1.50 a skein. I guess no one wanted this color, but I’ll take it!
