Weather change boots

I had a critical car accident years ago, and as a result have much nerve damage in my body. Thus it is very difficult for me to wear closed shoes as they always seem to be too tight. I am retired, but when I was working, I was an RN and wore crocs to work so that my feet would not feel so confined. They were the only shoes I could tolerate for my 12-14 hour days. So I decided to take my old work shoes, and create a boot out of them. This is the result, and let me tell you! They are comfortable! I am proud of my first attempt and intend to make more! Thanks.

Sorry to hear about the accident and the outcome :(

was it difficult to work with the old shoes?

Thank you for the kind words. They were quite simple actually. I used an ice pick to poke holes around the crocs after I cut the top off of them. Then I sewed a blanket stitch around them. Then I just crochet arount the soles and made the boots.
