I am home with my 2 boys, well one is in grade school. I love to crochet. All my years of growing up, both my grandmothers tried to teach me how to crochet, never took to it, at all. Now that I am able to be home due to disabilities with my kids, I decided December of 2013 that I wanted to learn how to crochet. I find it very fun, entertaining, educational, and relaxing.

I learned early but my mom never wanted to learn. Fast forward many many years and when she was home due to disabilities she too wanted to learn. SO I taught her. She spent a great deal of her crochet time making lap blankets for the veteran’s hospital. Mom passed away in 2012. I have been honoring that tradition of making for others with my blankets I make for the cat cages at my local animal shelters. They are so quick to make since they just need to be 17" square and I can try out new patterns on them. They don’t have any criteria except size so I have tried many different yarns, multiple yarns, different stitches etc.
